Access changes (August 2004)
To help users of technical reports, we have provided additional tips and sources -- see the revised How to obtain reports page.

Report classified and unclassified collection changes (July 2004)

The Research Library's classified collection is moving to IM-9 in two stages. Effective July 12th, the first phase transfers ownership of the classified electronic databases and full-text content to IM-9, the Information, Records, & Media Services Group. IM-9 is planning to migrate the information in the current databases to their classified information environment and to make the content available to the desktop using the Secure Desktop on Demand system. This will achieve the goal of delivering classified information to the desktop, a feature that has long been requested by users of this collection. While the data migration is in progress, IM-9 will have full access to the databases, the full-text content, and the paper reports and will support research requests for information on a limited basis. IM-9 staff supporting the classified collection will be available in the STB-RL vault on Tuesdays from 9:00 to 12:00 and on Thursdays from 1:00 to 4.00. The classified paper report collection will be moved in a second stage after the construction and occupation of the NSSB building.

Due to very limited staffing capabilities, the Research Library will not be able to continue to staff the vault for walk-in research, however, we will continue to provide assistance with unclassified technical reports for our customers. We will experiment with providing delivery of hard-copy reports on an on-call basis during the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, or by appointment.
