Arts & Humanities® at LANL is an electronic database
based upon Arts & Humanities® Citation Index - an international,
multidisciplinary index to the journal literature of the arts
and humanities produced by the Institute for Scientific Information.
Updated weekly, it covers 1,140 worldwide journals. Offered
thougth the Research Library's SearchPlus interface. |

BIOSIS® (1969- )
Citations, with abstracts, from Biological abstracts and Biological
abstracts/RRM (reports, reviews, meetings). BIOSIS® indexes
approximately 9,000 sources including journals, books, reviews,
meetings and meeting abstracts, nomenclatural rules, notes,
letters, annual reviews, bibliographies, guides, and research
communications journals. Offered thougth the Research Library's
SearchPlus interface. |

DOE Energy Science and Technology at LANL (1974-
)
A multi-disciplinary database containing worldwide references
to basic and applied scientific and technical research literature.
The primary focus is on energy and related topics, and it is
especially strong in environmental science. Covers publications
of the U.S. Dept. of Energy, its contractors, and other government
agencies; also information from the International Energy Agency's
Energy Technology Data Exchange (ETDE) and the International
Atomic Energy Agency's International Nuclear Information System
(INIS). Approximately half of the references are from sources
outside the United States. Approximately half of the references
are to journal literature and 25% to technical report literature.

Engineering Index® at LANL (1884- )
Engineering Index® provides worldwide coverage of approximately
4,500 journals, and numerous conference proceedings, reports,
books and dissertations. Engineering Index® at LANL corresponds
to the print publication Engineering Index®, with additional
coverage of conference papers and proceedings, with the addition
of EI's Page One data. |

E-Science Server® at LANL
E-Science Server® at LANL was created to provide a single
solution for searching, browsing and delivery of search results
through a standard web browser interface. E-Science Server® at
LANL consists of three piecesthe electronic content, the
content management software, and the value added by integrating
content in a single package. The electronic content provided
by E-Science Server® at LANL currently includes 4000+ scientific,
medical and technical journals from Academic Press, ACS, Elsevier,
IEEE, IOP, Kluwer, Springer and Wiley; also IEEE conferences
and standards. |

Inspec® (1898- )
Inspec ® is the leading English-language citation database for
the world's literature on all aspects of physics, electronics,
and computing. Inspec® scans papers from approximately 4,200
journals, 1,000 conferences, and other publications and provides
detailed subject indexing. Inspec® corresponds to the print
publications Physics Abstracts, Electrical and Electronics Abstracts, and Computer
and Control Abstracts. Offered thougth the Research Library's SearchPlus interface. |

ISI Proceedings® (1990- )
An international, multidisciplinary index to the conference
literature of science and technology. With 2.7 million records,
updated weekly, it indexes papers published since 1990 from
approximately 7,000 conferences each year. Offered thougth
the Research Library's SearchPlus interface.

Nuclear Science Abstracts at LANL (1948-1976)
Nuclear Science Abstracts (NSA) indexes international nuclear
science and technology literature for the period 1948-1976,
covering research from the U.S. Dept. of Energy and its predecessors,
other government agencies, universities, and industrial and
research organizations. Almost one million records; about 50%
of the references are to journal literature 25% to technical
report literature, and 25% to conferences, patents, books, dissertations
and engineering drawings. |

SciSearch® (1945-) Currently not adding

SciSearch® is an electronic database based upon Science
Citation Index, an international, multidisciplinary index to
the journal literature of science and technology produced by
the Institute for Scientific Information. Updated weekly, it
covers 3,300 worldwide journals. In addition to searching by
traditional methods such as author, title, and abstract words,
cited reference searching is also available. Offered thougth
the Research Library's SearchPlus interface. |

Social SciSearch® (1973-) Currently

Social SciSearch® is an electronic database based upon
Social Sciences Citation Index, an international, multidisciplinary
index to the journal literature of the social sciences produced
by the Institute for Scientific Information. Updated weekly,
it covers 1,700 worldwide journals and includes all significant
items such as articles, letters, editorials, etc. It also covers
individually selected, relevant items from over 3,300 scientific
and technical journals. Cited reference searching is available.

Alerting Service
Alerts are a special feature of the above products: an automatic current
awareness service. Alerts can be a good way to keep up with a topic of
interest without having to take the time and effort to go out and search
the information is delivered to you electronically. You register
for the service and then create a search strategy or personal profile
which will be matched automatically against each update of the database
and an email notification sent to you. Use alerts to:
- keep current with the latest research on a topic
- track the latest research by a particular author or institution
- receive the table of contents of your favorite journal
- see who has cited a paper or author (SciSearch® Plus databases
only)
